An Event with a Great Reputation
Buck Ridge Burn started as a dual-distance race back in 2011 with a small group of 40 runners. Since then, it has evolved into a go-to community event, becoming a part of the local culture. In 2017, the race filled on race day having grown enormously in popularity. And now, the race fills efore race day every year!
Every year, we receive loads of messages from folks praising the event, promising to bring buddies with them next year. It has been described as incredibly well organized, with the best marked courses, great food, awesome shirts, and a supportive atmosphere.

Buck Ridge Burn Trail Half Marathon, 10K+, & 5K has a strong social media presence on Facebook and Instagram, linked to running communities across Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington D.C.
In addition to these marketing choices which generate widespread sponsor logo visibility, the inclusion of sponsor logos on the back of our high-quality race shirts and volunteer shirts delivers years and years of logo exposure. We will be handing out 400+ race shirts this year!
Growing a Community of Acceptance and Kindness
My main focus with this race is to bring people of all shapes and sizes, all ages and ethnicity, and all ranges of athletic experience together to create a kind, connected, fun-loving community.
During the pre-race meeting, I asked the runners, "What do I always say during this speech?" The first answer was, "Be kind." :)
